A truly heroic deed

At the beginning of August we received an inquiry from a customer, asking if we can supply a spare for an old gearbox, built in 1979.

After intensive research we discovered a suitable part in a Danish shipbreaking yard. But condition and gear-ratio were unknown and we needed to go for an inspection locally. Four days later our colleague went to Grenaa/ Denmark by car and inspected the gearbox which was okay. After coordination with our customer we transferred the part to our workshop in Brinkum for complete overhaul. It was disassembled, cleaned, new bearings were installed, then painted and reassembled. After that the gearbox was sent to the customer on Cyprus. The total process including the overhauling took just two weeks.

A first class performance and a truly heroic deed to find a suitable gearbox in that short time.
